Here is the beginning of a painting of General Riedesel and staff leading his Brunswickers on to the field at the battle of Freeman's Farm during the Saratoga campaign. They arrived in the nick of time to save the British who were being severely pummeled. I don't generally do watercolor/gouache paintings this large because if you bungle one thing then the entire picture is ruined. With oil you can just wipe off or change a bad area and repaint it. Here is the drawing on the paper.
